This is a friendly reminder that Wednesday, September 23, will be an asynchronous learning day. Students will not attend school in person; instead, they will complete assigned work independently from home.
For students in grades K–6 who do not have an assigned device, learning packets will be sent home in advance. Students should complete the activities included in those packets per teacher instructions.
Students in grades 7–12 will access their assignments and instructional content through the online platforms designated by CMS and CHS.
The Whitewater Career Center will still conduct in-person classes on this day. WCC students should report to WCC as normal. Please communicate with the WCC office if you are unable to get to school.
Little Spartans Preschool students in Title One and Head Start will have asynchronous packets like our K-6 students.
Attendance will be recorded based upon completion of work by communicated deadlines.
Please encourage your child to complete all assigned work and submit it according to their teachers’ instructions. Additional information will be shared by your child’s school or teachers as needed.
An updated Corporation Calendar reflecting changes based upon our missed days due to the flood will be communicated after our October 13th School Board meeting.

The Fayette County School Corporation is currently experiencing a service interruption that is preventing our schools from placing outgoing long-distance calls. This may temporarily affect our ability to reach some families and community members by telephone.

FCSC Schedule Update – August 17–19
Dear FCSC Families and Staff,
Over the past several days, our Fayette County community has experienced tremendous hardship as a result of the flooding and devastation throughout our area. Many of our families and staff members have spent countless hours cleaning homes, helping neighbors, relocating loved ones, and responding to needs throughout our community. We recognize that the impact of this event has been not only physical, but emotional and mental as well.
After careful consideration of the needs of our students, families, staff, and community, Fayette County School Corporation will not be in session on Monday, August 17.
We know that many in our community are still actively working through the effects of the flooding. Some are dealing with damage to their homes and property with substantial work still to be done, some have been displaced, and many are simply physically and mentally exhausted from the work of the past several days. We believe it is important to give our FCSC family another day to focus on their families, their homes, their neighbors, and themselves.
Tuesday, August 18, will be a staff-only work day and a soft start for our FCSC staff. Staff members will have the flexibility to work in our school buildings as we prepare to welcome students back, or they may choose to serve alongside others in our community by assisting with continued cleanup and recovery efforts.
Our hope is that Tuesday provides our staff with an opportunity to reconnect, prepare, serve, and begin transitioning back into our school routines while still respecting the very real needs that exist throughout our community.
Students will return to school, and normal school operations will resume on Wednesday, August 19th.
As we prepare for Wednesday, we also recognize that "normal" may still look very different for many of our families. There may continue to be transportation challenges, displaced families, damaged homes, and other circumstances beyond anyone's control. We will approach these situations with grace, patience, flexibility, and compassion. No family should feel that school adds another burden during an already difficult time.

Volunteer central has now been moved from the soccer field to Eastview. We need hands and feet if you are available. The Eastview cafeteria is also open for all volunteers who need to get out of the weather. We will have sack lunches for volunteers as well.
Lunch is available for all volunteers at Eastview Elementary starting at 11:15AM. Pizza!
